London, October 15 (BNA) In the second half, Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hogberg preserved Tottenham’s perfect record at home in the Premier League by beating Everton 2-0 on Saturday.
Kane hit his team ahead with a penalty kick in the 59th minute after it was dropped by Jordan Pickford. Hojberg took the win late by a minute.
An Associated Press report said Tottenham were level on points with second-placed Manchester City.
It was Kane’s third penalty this week after he scored and missed a penalty in the Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.
Pickford recklessly brought down Kane while sensing a shot from Matt Doherty. The Everton goalkeeper buried his head in the field before referee Paul Tierney blew his whistle and accepted his mistake. Kane fired a low penalty in the bottom corner.
Spurs’ total of 23 points after 10 games is their best start to the top flight and their highest tally since 1963.
