The National Medical Taskforce highlights the effectiveness of booster shots in saving lives, backed by medical data

Manama, Dec. 27 (BNA): The National Medical Task Force to Combat Coronavirus (Covid-19) today highlighted medical data that further supports the efficacy of a booster injection in increasing immunity and reducing complications associated with COVID-19 that may require treatment. or intensive care, or that may lead to death.

The task force noted that from September to December 2021, there were a total of 242 COVID-19 cases requiring treatment, of which 198 did not receive a booster dose. Six people died as a result of complications from the virus, and none of them received a booster dose.

The task force stressed the importance of continuing to support national efforts to combat COVID-19, adding that social awareness plays a major role in ensuring public health is maintained.

The task force stressed the importance of vaccination and a subsequent booster dose to reach the community immunity needed to eradicate the virus and its variants.

The task force concluded by inviting all eligible citizens and residents to take the booster injection in the specific health centers previously announced by the Ministry of Health, without the need for an appointment.
