The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, November 7 (BNA) His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, chaired the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet extended its sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the success of the historic official visit paid by His Holiness Pope Francis to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of His Majesty the King.

The Cabinet highlighted the King’s speech during the reception of His Holiness the Pope, which emphasized the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a land of peaceful coexistence between followers of different religions and as a homeland for people of multiple religions.

The Cabinet praised the historic visit of His Holiness the Pope, and the visit of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of His Majesty the King. King, and praised the constructive meetings that took place during their visit.

The Council commended the speeches delivered by the distinguished guests, which reflected their commitment to supporting the values ​​of peace and coexistence.

The Cabinet also praised the results of the first session of the Bahrain Dialogue Forum: East and West for Human Coexistence, which was held under the patronage of His Majesty the King.

The Cabinet stressed the importance of the King Hamad International Prize for Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence, which was launched during the forum, and which reflects the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting peaceful dialogue between different cultures and religions.

The Council also reviewed the results of the sixteenth meeting of the Muslim Council of Elders, which was held under the chairmanship of His Holiness the Pope and His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb.

The Cabinet expressed its gratitude to the employees of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Ministry of Information Affairs, all government agencies and volunteer teams, for their efforts during the visit of His Holiness the Pope and the visit of His Holiness the Pope. accompanying events. The Cabinet affirmed that the distinguished organization of the events reflects the efforts of the people of Bahrain and their excellence in every field.

The Council of Ministers stressed the importance of His Majesty’s speech during the 31st Summit of the League of Arab States hosted by the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, which indicated the importance of coordination and cooperation among Arab countries to face regional and global challenges.

The speech was delivered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Special Representative of His Majesty the King, who headed the Kingdom’s delegation to the summit.

The Council of Ministers praised the results of the summit and its importance in promoting joint Arab action.

The Cabinet then highlighted the government’s commitment to continue initiatives that enhance partnerships between the public and private sectors, referring to the results of the public-private partnership event held under the auspices of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister. His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah was assigned to attend the event on behalf of His Royal Highness.

The Cabinet also praised the housing finance exhibition, which aims to familiarize citizens with housing finance with the private sector, and directed the continuation of initiatives that facilitate citizens’ access to housing services and offers.

In this regard, the Cabinet affirmed that the partnership between the public and private sectors will continue to grow in light of the qualitative opportunities provided by the economic recovery plan and major development projects.

Then the Council of Ministers followed up on the preparations of the ministries and government agencies for the parliamentary and municipal elections that will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022. In this regard, the Council of Ministers directed the ministries and government agencies to continue their great efforts in providing services. All necessary measures to ensure the success and transparency of the electoral process.

The Cabinet praised the efforts of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments in this regard, noting that the parliamentary elections reflect a continuation of the democratic process in Bahrain that supports the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty the King.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memoranda with the following results:

Agree to the following memorandum:

1. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a memorandum of understanding between the Communications Regulatory Authority in Bahrain and the Federal Communications Commission in the United States of America.

2. The memorandum of the Minister of Transport and Communications regarding initiatives to develop telecommunication services.

Then the council reviewed the following topics:

1. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Education regarding the ministry’s priority projects within the framework of the government’s priorities.

2. A memorandum from the Ministry of Labor regarding the Ministry’s initiatives in cooperation with the relevant authorities to integrate graduates into the labor market.

3. Memorandum of His Excellency the Minister of Works regarding the Ministry’s strategic projects.

Then the Cabinet reviewed the ministerial report of the Minister of Health regarding the declaration of the World Health Organization that Bahrain will remain free of endemic measles and rubella.
