Telecommunications and IT sector spurs economic growth, Finance Minister

Manama, Dec. 13 (BNA): Minister of Finance and National Economy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mumtalakat Company, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, stressed the role of the communications and information technology sector in supporting the national economy and stimulating growth.

He referred to the support provided to this pivotal sector to achieve development goals, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He stressed the need to continue developing the digital infrastructure that supports the communications and information technology sector to consolidate its competitiveness, which will reflect positively on the national economy.

He stressed the innovative digital technologies and solutions offered by this sector, which support various economic sectors.

This came during a ceremony announcing the launch of Beyon, the largest telecommunications and information technology company in the region, which will be the parent company of Batelco, Beyon Digital Companies, and Batelco International Investments.

The launch ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant General. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, senior officials and businessmen.

During the ceremony, the company officially launched its new logo, which was unveiled and displayed on display in the main hall.

The Beyon logo has also been displayed in several locations in Bahrain, including the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, the Bahrain International Circuit, and the company’s headquarters building in Hamala.

Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Batelco and Pune, delivered a speech in which he praised the keenness of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to develop the telecommunications and information technology sector.

He was pleased to launch Beyon as part of a strategy that has resulted in four new digital businesses over the past year – Beyon Money, Beyon Solutions, Beyon Cyber ​​and Beyon Connect.
