Teenager scores winner as Burkina Faso advance to Cup of Nations semi-final

Gharwa, Jan. 30 (BNA): Youngster Dango Ouattara scored a goal at the end of the first half to secure Burkina Faso’s 1-0 victory over Tunisia in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals at the Rumde Adjea Stadium on Saturday.

Reuter reported that 19-year-old Ouattara blocked two defenders to hit the ball from close range after a breakaway attack in the third minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half.

The striker, who later ejected himself, was put in his way with an inside pass from Blati Toure as Burkina Faso played a clever counter-attacking game to advance to the fourth round of the tournament in Cameroon.

This is the third time in the last five editions of the continental tournament that Burkina Faso has reached the semi-finals, and will face the winners of Sunday’s quarter-finals in Yaounde between Senegal and Equatorial Guinea.
