Position Title: Technical Leader

A Dubai-based commodity trading company with active market participation in the UK and expanding globally
Job title:
• Responsible for overall project planning including resources, sprints, milestones, schedule, and deadlines until implementation of project handover as senior backend Python developer, including project code reviews on a frequent basis and incorporation of required improvements and changes
• Take the initiative to report and resolve any bottlenecks or issues related to the projects and members they manage independently
• Significantly assist in designing, documenting and sharing/discussing project architecture using Scrum/Agile Development methodologies, different approaches to data structures and algorithms with the team
• Ensure development best practices are followed by the development team and report any hits or red flags in projects under Python Frameworks (Flask or Django), AWS Cloud, relational databases such as PostgreSQL and non-relational databases including Timeseries Db
• Own the technical implementation of the project to ensure it is on track, meeting deadlines, and informing management of progress/bottlenecks through detailed technical documentation
• Mentor and coach junior team members and project colleagues
qualifications:
• 40 years and under
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Electrical Engineering. Master’s degree is a plus
• Minimum 7 years experience in Python. 2 years as a senior Python backend developer and 3 years developing REST APIs
• Must have experience with Python frameworks (Flask or Django), AWS cloud and its resources/services
• AWS certifications are an advantage
• Open to foreign candidates
For foreign candidates, the company will provide flight tickets, work visa and family benefits along with quarantine expenses once they arrive in Dubai. Also, a free two-month stay will be provided.
