Tamkeen to launch programmes to support Bahrainis’ career development

Manama, June 4 (BNA): In line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to continue efforts to improve the standard of living of Bahraini citizens through more initiatives, the Labor Fund (Tamkeen) announced the start of work on several programs tracks that focused on subsidizing employee wages. This came after the agreement between the executive and legislative authorities on the budget law for the fiscal years 2023-2024, which encouraged the launch of initiatives aimed at increasing the wages of Bahrainis working in the private sector through wage support programs for a number of professions. These directives will contribute strongly to achieving the national goal of making Bahrainis the first choice for employment in the labor market.

Commenting on this, Maha Moves, CEO of the Labor Fund (Tamkeen), said: “We are keen to introduce initiatives aimed at integrating Bahrainis into the labor market and increasing career development opportunities by combining training and supporting wage increases that will contribute to the development of national talents and their employment in jobs.” quality.”

She emphasized that Tamkeen is currently working on designing a number of new support tracks to support some professions and specializations in the market, with the aim of expanding the range of beneficiaries and providing them with the skills required in the market, and thus enabling them to do so. Schiff also highlighted that Tamkeen recently launched career path maps for several sectors ranging from financial services and telecoms as part of the Skills Bahrain reports. Work is underway to finalize the skill requirements for the remaining 9 sectors which will be launched in due course.

It is worth noting that this year witnessed the launch of many initiatives aimed at supporting Bahrainis, such as the initiative to support Bahraini doctors in the private sector, the Aspire initiative to support the career development of Bahrainis, and others.

Tamkeen also continued its initiatives to support training through various partnerships with leading local and international training providers to give Bahrainis access to specialized training opportunities according to global standards. These include partnership with the General Assembly to train Bahrainis in various technical subjects, the Sans Institute to train Bahrainis in the field of cybersecurity, the Institute and College of Actuaries in London and the BIBF Institute to qualify Bahrainis to be actuaries for the insurance sector, and more.

These initiatives complement Tamkeen’s ongoing efforts to support private sector enterprises committed to developing their human capital as part of this year’s strategy that focuses on four main priorities: facilitating increased economic participation of Bahrainis, and providing training that is in line with the needs of the new labor market. and emerging skills, as well as supporting the growth and development of enterprises and the development of environmental systems, all of which lead to a positive economic impact and sustainable growth.
