Sustainable Development Minister concludes official visit to Japan

Manama, May 10 (BNA): Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Al-Khalif, met with a number of Japanese officials and representatives of Japanese companies, within the framework of the Minister’s participation in a high-level Bahraini businessmen delegation headed by the Minister of Sustainable Development. Industry and Trade Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro.

Minister Al-Khulaif affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Japan to support the achievement of the goals of sustainable development.

During the visit, the minister met with the Japanese Minister of State for Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Yana Kazuo, in the presence of the Kingdom’s ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Muhammad Al-Dosari. The two sides discussed the importance of continuing to strengthen the education system to support the achievement of the sustainable goals.

The Minister of Sustainable Development also met with the Deputy Director General of the Office for Promoting Regional Revitalization in the Cabinet Office, Kyoko Nishi. The two sides discussed mechanisms for following up the implementation of the sustainable development goals and the importance of stakeholder participation.

The Minister of Sustainable Development concluded her official visit by meeting senior officials of the Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises in Japan.
