Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA): The Cybercrime Prosecution office has completed its investigations into statements and recordings posted on social media that contradict the foundations of the Islamic religion and defame the prophets.
Those responsible for these jobs have been referred to the Minor Criminal Court, where they will stand trial on February 21, said the Chief Information Technology Crimes Prosecutor.
The details of the case reveal that the Public Prosecution Office received two reports from the Ministry of Social Development and the Cybercrime Department of the Ministry of Interior, indicating that three members of an association in Bahrain had published a number of notes and broadcast a series of episodes dealing with. The Public Prosecution began its investigations by downloading notes and recordings circulating on social media, examining and analyzing followers’ comments, and interrogating suspects.
Investigations have proven the charges against the defendants, as they were skeptical while reviewing and interpreting the verses of the Holy Qur’an, stories of the prophets, and Qur’anic miracles, deliberately undermining the foundations of the Islamic religion that all Muslims and sects agree on.
They also exchanged ideas aimed at questioning the message, the Prophet’s biography, and the Quranic miracle, thus undermining the strong belief in it as one of the pillars and origins of the Islamic religion.
In this regard, the Public Prosecution affirmed that freedom of opinion and academic research is guaranteed to everyone in accordance with the constitution and the law, and that every person has the right to express his opinions and publish them verbally, in writing, or otherwise, on condition. The foundations of the Islamic religion are unbiased.
The Public Prosecution added that any behavior or opinion that exceeds these limits violates the right of expression and its norms, and requires that violators be referred to the judiciary, according to the provisions of the law.
