SCH President to patronise 3rd National Sickle Cell Symposium

Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA): Under the auspices of the President of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, government hospitals are holding the third national symposium on sickle cell anemia.


The seminar, organized by Education Plus and sponsored by NOVARTIS, will take place on Saturday, February 18th, at the Gulf Hotel.


On this occasion, the Chairman of the Council affirmed that the medical sector enjoys the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the continuous support of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Which made Bahrain a leader in medical development in its various specialties.


He pointed out that the symposium will provide an opportunity to shed light on the Kingdom’s achievements in the medical fields, as it will host a large number of sickle cell anemia specialists from Bahrain and abroad.


He affirmed the Supreme Council’s keenness to provide all kinds of support to government hospitals to ensure that the third symposium achieves all expected goals.


He added that development efforts are continuing to improve the services provided to sickle cell patients to ensure that they receive integrated and complete medical care.


He praised the tremendous efforts made by government hospitals and the organizing committee of the third national sickle cell symposium, wishing them all success.
