Manama, November 1 (BNA) A team of students from the Bahrain School in Manama, Bahrain, is preparing to test their cybersecurity skills in CyberPatriot XV for the fifteenth season of the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition of the Air Force Federation.
Since 2009, the CyberPatriot Competition has been challenging teams of students to strengthen simulated computer systems and solve real-world cybersecurity situations faced by professionals in the field.
The competition provides students with hands-on experience in securing computer networks while exciting, educating, and motivating them toward careers in cybersecurity and other STEM fields.
Led by Joshua Crest, a cybersecurity instructor at the Ministry of Defense and the Middle East, the Bahrain School team is one of more than 5,200 high school and middle school teams from around the world registered to participate.
Depending on its organizational type, the Bahrain School will compete with other public and private secondary schools in the open section.
Each team guarantees three rounds of live online competition.
The first round of CyberPatriot XV runs from October 14-16 and additional rounds are scheduled for November 4-6 and December 9-11.
Eliminations begin after the third round and only the teams with the highest points advance to the semi-finals.
After the semi-finals, only 28 teams advance to the National Finals competition in person in March, with the teams traveling to Bethesda, MD.
