Kanoo Travel is pleased to announce that we are looking to recruit a Senior Consultant for the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) division in Dubai. We are looking for an energetic, customer focused MICE Consultant with a proven track record in managing meetings and events.
Basic Responsibilities:
• Place of sourcing, negotiation and contracting.
• Logistics and budget management – before and after the event.
• Site management (when applicable).
Work responsibilities:
• The candidate will be primarily responsible for providing advisory support to our clients.
• Responsible for providing strategic direction & consultation to the meeting student to influence a high quality and cost effective meeting project plan.
• Recommendations that meet specifications and requirements must be submitted.
• Determine location sourcing using the client’s preferred location program, and create proposal and offer.
• Place of contact with the supplier and negotiate with the place to obtain the best prices and terms and conditions for the customer.
• Negotiating and finalizing contracts and commissions with the client.
• Responsible for budget management, project planning, coordination and implementation.
• Managing the involvement of third party suppliers and DMC.
• You will be required to travel to the customer desk or locations on site to connect to meetings.
• Management – including travel arrangements for guests must be delegated with the relevant departments.
• Responsible for managing signage and meeting materials.
• Must play an active role in budget management and reconciliation.
• Maintain and manage attendance registration online and offline.
• Manage event data and manage documents throughout the event lifecycle.
• Responsible for customer invoices and payments to suppliers.
Skills and qualifications required:
• The candidate must have at least 5 years of proven track record and experience in the meetings industry and event management and previous experience in arranging meetings/events/exhibitions.
• The minimum educational requirements for a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Travel and Tourism are preferred.
• Must hold a valid UAE driving license, as you may be required to go to the site or travel to the client’s office for meetings (when applicable).
• Previous experience in GCC countries with local knowledge of the meetings and events industry is preferred
• The candidate must be good looking and have a satisfactory personality.
• Arabic speaking candidates will be preferred for this role.
• You must have very good negotiation skills.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be highly customer focused.
