Spurs rip through Leeds’ frail defense in 4-0 win in EPL

London, Feb. 26 (BUS): Tottenham became the latest team to tear up Leeds’ fragile defense, winning 4-0 at Island Road on Saturday to give manager Antonio Conte something to smile about this time around.

An Associated Press report said Matt Doherty, Dejan Kulusevsky and Harry Kane scored goals in the first 27 minutes, and Leeds players were booed at the end of the first half.

Son Heung-min added the fourth goal in the 85th minute, after a superb long pass from Kane to finish off goalkeeper Ian Meslier, and this was the 20th goal Leeds received in five games in February. This is a Premier League record for goals allowed for one month.

The win saw Spurs return to a 1-0 loss to Burnley on Wednesday, after which Conte questioned his ability to make Spurs contend for trophies, and even questioned his future at the club.

While Tottenham climbed to seventh place and are still in good shape in the fight for Champions League qualification spots, Leeds are just three points above the bottom three, no doubt implicated in the relegation loss.
