Speaker stresses Bahrain’s human rights strides

Manama, November 7 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal affirmed the Kingdom’s advanced position in the fields of human rights, freedom, democracy and tolerance, promoting a culture of peace and coexistence, and respect for pluralism and difference. between peoples and societies.

She was speaking during her reception today, a delegation from the Group of Friends of Bahrain in the European Parliament who are visiting the Kingdom to learn about its democratic experience and activate parliamentary diplomacy. The meeting was held in the presence of the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Ahmed Zayed, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee Ahmed Sabah Al-Salloum and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Sisi, Chairman of the Services Committee. The Speaker of the House of Representatives attributed the advanced international estimates of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the promotion of freedom and democracy during the reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She stressed that the royal reform project resulted in an inspiring democratic and human rights experience that became a model for tolerance, coexistence, transparency, openness, understanding, harmony and peace.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed the importance of activating parliamentary diplomacy and consolidating relations with brotherly and friendly countries in various fields. She noted the need to benefit from successful parliamentary experiences and highlight the Kingdom’s civilized achievements, pointing to the Kingdom’s approach to transparency, clarity and openness.

For their part, the delegation of the Friends of Bahrain Group stressed the importance of the visit to learn about the Bahrain experience.
