Speaker receives Finance Minister, praises cooperation between legislative, executive branches

Manama, September 20 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal stressed the importance of regular meetings and joint coordination between the government and Parliament to meet the needs of citizens. She commended the cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities to accelerate the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for national efforts to maximize the Kingdom’s achievements and overcome challenges.

She was speaking during her reception today, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, in the presence of the Undersecretary for National Economy Amna Ahmed Al Rumaihi.

The discussions dealt with issues of common interest and ways to enhance parliamentary governmental cooperation in the financial and economic fields.

For his part, the Minister of Finance and National Economy expressed his thanks to the Speaker and members of the House of Representatives for their role in facing the major challenges facing the national economy due to the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic. He also praised the increasing cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities to strengthen the national economy.
