Speaker receives UAE counterpart

Manama, October 20 (BNA) The President of the Council, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, received the Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council, Saqr Ghobash.
The meeting discussed ways to develop joint parliamentary work and cooperation between the legislative branches in the two countries through innovating new methods and developing new procedures to ensure the development of parliamentary and legislative work.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed that the well-established relations between Bahrain and the UAE represent a unique model at the level of agreements between the two countries and peoples under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Khalifa. Zainal stressed the keenness of the legislative authority in Bahrain to enhance cooperation with the legislative councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in a way that contributes to upgrading legislative capabilities, developing joint systems and supporting development in the region.

The Speaker of the Federal National Council praised the steady development progress witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty the King, and stressed that the Bahraini-Emirati relations are a model for continuous cooperation.

He expressed the UAE’s keenness to enhance legislative cooperation in various fields and support Bahrain in all fields.
