Speaker receives Egyptian ambassador

Manama, Jan. 19 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal received today the Egyptian ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Yasser Shaaban.

The meeting was held in the presence of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Abdulnabi Salman.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the strong and growing brotherly relations and cooperation between the two countries thanks to the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

She described the bilateral relations as a role model, stressing the parliament’s keenness to further enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two brotherly countries. She praised the positive results of her recent visit to Egypt, which culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the parliaments of the two countries.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives praised Egypt’s strategic and pivotal role in enhancing security and stability in the region and the world.

The Egyptian ambassador praised the meeting, and thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives for her recent successful visit to Egypt. He praised the advanced level of bilateral relations, stressing the main role that Bahrain plays in enhancing security and stability in the Arab Gulf region and the world at large.
