Speaker lauds Bahrain, US relations

Manama, Jan. 16 (BNA): Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam met a delegation of US Senators headed by Congressmen Jackie Rawson and James Lankford, in the presence of Shura Council Speaker Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh.

The meeting reviewed ways to enhance cooperation between the House of Representatives, the Shura Council and the US Congress.

The meeting also discussed issues of common interest and ways to support cooperation in the economic and trade fields.

Al-Musallam affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to strengthen bilateral relations and ensure international peace and security. He praised the depth of historical relations between the two countries.

He affirmed the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance cooperation in all fields and the continuous efforts to develop a free trade agreement and open the American Trade Zone (USTZ) in Bahrain, which supports economic growth and fulfills Bahrain’s economic vision 2023.

Al-Musallam praised the democratic progress achieved by the Kingdom during the 2022 national elections, which achieved high victories, and the continuous efforts to advance human rights and national decision-making.

Al-Saleh affirmed the values ​​of Bahraini coexistence under the leadership of His Majesty the King, and highlighted the Bahraini-American relations and ways to achieve security and stability in the region.
