Speaker holds discussion session with Kuwaiti counterpart

Manama, October 21 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal affirmed the depth of the historical brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait and their steady growth in various fields under the leadership of the State of Kuwait. This came during a discussion session between Parliament Speaker and Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim. They highlighted the latest regional and Arab developments and bilateral relations, especially in the parliamentary field.

The discussion session was attended by First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Abdulnabi Salman, Second Deputy Speaker Ali Ahmed Zayed, Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee Fadel Abbas Al-Sawad, and Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee Ahmed Sabah Al-Salloum as Chairman. The Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Sisi Al-Buainain, the Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee Khaled Saleh Bou Ong, Member of Parliament Ali Ishaqi, the Secretary-General of the Council, Counselor Rashid Muhammad Bounajemah, and the Kuwaiti ambassador. The Speaker of the House of Representatives affirmed the permanent council’s keenness to enhance coordination between the legislative branch and the Gulf parliaments to support the Gulf work system. She praised the honorable stances of the State of Kuwait towards the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the pioneering role of the State of Kuwait in supporting joint Gulf action, serving Arab and Islamic issues, and enhancing security and stability in the region and the world.

For his part, the Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly praised the strong brotherly relations between the leaderships of the two countries.

He referred to the National Assembly’s keenness to further strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries in the legislative and parliamentary fields. He thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the warm reception and generous hospitality, wishing Bahrain and its people further growth and prosperity.
