Manama, Feb. 12 (BNA): Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam affirmed that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom is determined to achieve more outstanding achievements under its comprehensive rule. He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain attaches great importance to spreading the values and principles of peaceful coexistence and human brotherhood.
He affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to support parliamentary work in order to consolidate joint international relations, and to coordinate positions and visions, thanks to the continuous fruitful cooperation between the legislative authority and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The Parliament Speaker made these remarks while receiving here today the Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Martin Chongong.
First Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Chairman of the National Organizing Committee for the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and related meetings Jamal Muhammad Fakhro, Secretary General of the House of Representatives, Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Delegation and Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee. The meeting was attended by Counselor Rashid Muhammad Bu Najma, Assistant Secretary-General and Organizing Committee member Yahya Ali Al-Mulla.
During the meeting, President Al-Muslim confirmed the readiness of the legislative authority in Bahrain to host the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and related meetings on the 11th and 15th of March.
He pointed out that the ministries and competent authorities will cooperate with the legislative authority during the Kingdom’s hosting of the largest parliamentary gathering, which confirms the prestigious position that the Kingdom enjoys at the international level.
The Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union praised the progress Bahrain is witnessing in various fields.
He praised the role played by the parliamentary delegation in the Kingdom in preparing for the 146th meeting of the union and related meetings, in cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
He added that the Kingdom’s hosting of the huge parliamentary event reflects its continuous successes.
