Manama, June 27 (BNA) The Governor of the South, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, inaugurated today the security awareness exhibition held by the Southern Governorate to coincide with the International Day for Combating Drugs and Illicit Trafficking. The opening was attended by the Deputy Governor of the South, Brigadier General Issa Thamer Al-Dosari, representatives of the various directorates of the Ministry of Interior and a number of officials of the Southern Governorate.
His Highness the Southern Emir praised the directives of the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, which aim to enhance stability, security and community partnership through the implementation of various programs. He also praised the efforts of the security directorates, relevant authorities and civil society institutions in facing challenges, combating drug abuse and protecting young people to ensure a safe society. He pointed to the governorate’s support for all awareness initiatives aimed at protecting citizens from drug abuse.
Then His Highness, the Governor of the Southern Region, cut the tape announcing the launch of the exhibition, which presented ways to prevent drug abuse and educate people about its dangers.
