Iran’s nuclear programme slammed

Manama, November 21 (BNA) A number of participants in the closing session of the Manama Dialogue 2021 discussed Iran’s nuclear program and the threat it poses to the region and the world.

They also highlighted the seriousness of the activities of Iran and its allies, proxies, and militias in undermining regional security and stability.

They stressed the importance of joint action in protecting the security of the region and strengthening collective capabilities in the face of any potential danger.

For his part, the US National Security Council’s coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Brett McGurk, stressed that his country is working with its partners to deter Iran and reduce tension in the region.

The Iranian regime is our enemy, and we understand the suffering of the Iranian people.

“We leave room for diplomacy in dealing, but we are ready to take any other options,” he added.

He renewed the US commitment to its partners in the region, pointing out that the US withdrawal from Afghanistan does not mean, as some believe, a withdrawal from the region.

“The American presence in the region has been going on for nearly two decades, and Washington considers the region’s security a priority and part of its security.”

He pointed out that the three successive US administrations during the past two decades played a major role in protecting the region, whether through direct or indirect support, through training and empowerment, which reflects the American commitment to the region.

For his part, Israeli National Security Adviser Eyal Hawlata stressed that his country and America are partners in deterring Iran and its aspirations to develop its nuclear weapons and use drones to endanger security and stability.

He said that Israel, like many countries in the region and the world, faces Iranian threats through its allies, proxies and militias in the region.

He said, “We are witnessing a critical period of time and we aspire to get out of it strongly.

We will not allow Iran to become a nuclear state and we will do so through joint action and coordination.”

He pointed out that the celebration of the first anniversary of the signing of the Ibrahim Agreement constitutes an occasion to renew the thinking of the benefits and benefits of this agreement for the peoples of the region.

Holata called for the development of the joint defense structure among the countries of the region to help them face the many challenges they are going through.

He called for insistence on seizing the current opportunities and benefiting from them to the fullest.

As for the foreign policy spokesman of the German Social Democratic Party, Dr. Nils Schmidt, he indicated in his speech that his country will not change its foreign policy in the Middle East, referring in this context to his country’s support for the two-state solution regarding the Palestinian-Israeli issue.

He stressed that European countries should increase their interest and activities in the Middle East and Africa, especially with the administration of US President Joe Biden focusing on the Indo-Pacific region and China.

He pointed out that his country will continue to support multilateralism and will continue to strengthen the role of the European Union, based on its belief that the strength of Europe is the most important interest for Germany.
