Manama, January 22 (BNA): His Highness, the Emir of the Southern Region, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, received employee Iman Shakib and honored her for winning the third place in the National Weightlifting Day Championship.
The competition was held from December 16-18 under the patronage of the First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shakib also won three gold medals in the recently held Arab Weightlifting Championships.
His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa stressed the importance of stimulating human cadres in various fields, praising the role of the governorate’s employees in serving the country.
The sports champion expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa for his support.
