A chef is responsible for planning and managing food preparation in restaurant kitchens. Known as the assistant chef or the second-in-command chef, these skilled individuals have a range of duties including planning rosters, training new employees, and keeping inventory.
What will you do:
Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
Assist in preparing and planning meal designs.
Ensure that kitchen activities are running in a timely manner.
– Personally solve customer problems and concerns.
Monitor and record stock and, if necessary, order new supplies.
Provide support to junior kitchen staff in various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plate.
Your experience and skills include:
– Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Science or a related field.
– Proven work experience as an assistant chef
Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and best practices.
Good understanding of Microsoft Office and restaurant software.
Directed teamwork with outstanding leadership capabilities.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
