We are looking for Software Development Managers to be based in Cairo, Egypt with over 10 years of solid experience in software development involving complex problem solving, to work on some of the key initiatives planned to support our rapid development and growth of Amazon’s international expansion business. And in the meantime, we solve some of the toughest problems.
Main Job Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead the technical direction and leadership of the team, develop strategies and shape our long-term vision and architecture:
You will own the key deliverables from start to finish, guide the roadmaps, and provide technical leadership to the engineering team.
You will be responsible for the overall solution development lifecycle and management of complex projects with significant core impact.
Work with Product Managers in developing a strategy and roadmap to provide compelling capabilities to the vendor community that will help them succeed in their business goals.
Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach to new product development.
Inculcate best practices for software development and documentation, ensuring designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
Project management – setting priorities, planning projects and features, managing stakeholders and tracking external commitments.
Operational Excellence Monitoring and operating production services.
Proven ability to provide deep and breadth technical leadership to agile teams.
Basic qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
– 7+ years of experience as a software developer
More than 5 years of experience in software development management
– Excellent problem-solving and object-oriented design skills
Fluency and experience in object-oriented programming languages, such as Java
Thorough understanding of software development in a team and a proven track record of shipping software
– Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
Ability to deal with multiple competing priorities
Experience in developing and implementing a software roadmap
Experience in managing front-end, back-end, and service-oriented software systems
Preferred qualifications
Postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science or a related field
– More than 10 years of professional experience in software development
Experience in building and operating mission-critical and highly scalable programs and systems
Proven ability to provide deep technical leadership and breadth to agile teams
