We are looking for software development engineers to be based in Amman, Jordan to work on some of the key initiatives planned to support our rapid development and growth of Amazon’s international expansion business. And in the meantime, we solve some of the toughest problems.
Basic tasks:
• Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, robustness, cost and security.
• Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high level of quality for all team deliverables
• Writing high quality distributed system programs
• Work in a startup-like agile development environment, where you always work on the most important things.
Basic qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Agile development, daily scrum, ownership of both production issues and new features.
• Strong technical understanding and API documentation is essential for team development.
• Fundamentals of Computer Science in Data Structures.
• Fundamentals of computer science in algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis.
• Good written/verbal communication skills in English, bilingual preferred.
• Self-motivated, work thrives in a small team.
• Focus and professional.
• The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Preferred qualifications:
• 2+ years of programming experience with progressive development responsibilities in Java.
• Java ecosystem for daily development: Spring / Spring Boot, Apache, Ant / Maven / Gradle, Tomcat / Jetty / TomEE, Jenkins.
• RESTful API specification, implementation, JSON and robust documentation would be an addition (or SOAP web service experience with leanings toward REST).
• AWS services such as EC2, S3, SQS and Kinesis
