Small and Medium Enterprises Academy project hailed

Manama, May 9 (BNA) The Kingdom of Bahrain intends to establish an academy aimed at promoting small and medium enterprises.

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism signed an agreement with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) to establish the academy.

Undersecretary Iman Ahmed Al-Dosari stressed the importance of the project in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises that play a vital role in developing the national economy and advancing growth.

She commended the role of the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in promoting small and medium enterprises that play a crucial role in economic recovery plans.

She noted the role of the Council of Small and Medium Enterprises, which was established in 2017 based on the directives of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Development Board.

The council is chaired by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani.

The Director-General of the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, Ahmed Al-Sheikh, praised the ministry’s role in supporting young entrepreneurs through the initiatives adopted by the council, praising the partnership that will contribute to developing the skills of small and medium-sized enterprises owners.
