Shura Chairman receives Palestinian ambassador

Manama, Jan. 4 (BNA): Speaker of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, received the Palestinian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Taha Mohammed Abdul-Qader.

The ambassador conveyed the greetings of the President of the Palestinian Central Council, Ruhi Fattouh.

Al-Saleh affirmed the Kingdom’s position on the Palestinian issue under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, regarding the continuous pursuit of a two-state solution and the recognition of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their land. Its capital is East Jerusalem.

The Chairman of the Board affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for the noble efforts and continuous steps to establish peace, spread international coexistence and tolerance, and enhance security and stability in the region.

He praised the Bahraini-Palestinian relations, stressing the Council’s keenness to strengthen relations with the Palestinian Political Council.

The ambassador congratulated the Speaker of the House of Representatives for obtaining the royal confidence in the sixth legislative term.

He praised the Kingdom’s progress in various fields and support for sustainable development projects led by His Majesty the King, and Bahrain’s firm stance towards the Palestinian cause.
