Shura Chairman: New National Assembly building reflects sustainability of Bahrain’s democratic process

Manama, Dec. 25 (BNA): Speaker of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, affirmed that the National Assembly building project will be a prominent national landmark testifying to the sustainability of the democratic process and fruitful legislative work.

Al-Saleh highly appreciated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s continuous support for the legislative authority, and his keenness to maximize the role played by the Shura Council and the Representatives Council to increase national gains and continue efforts to enhance the Kingdom’s march.

The Speaker of the Shura Council expressed his deep pride in His Majesty the King’s patronage of the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the National Assembly building, which was held here today in the presence of His Majesty’s Deputy, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, pointing out the importance and coincidence of this step with the Kingdom’s celebrations of the National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty’s accession. Al-Saleh praised His Majesty’s Deputy King’s continuous support for the legislative authority, and his directives to open broader horizons for constructive dialogue between the legislative and executive authorities, expressing his pride in His Highness attending the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the National Assembly building, and directives to specialists.
