Shaikh Ebrahim Centre hosts Egyptian Novelist El Shazly

Manama, April 1 (BNA): The Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research will host the Egyptian novelist, Dr. Osama Abdul Raouf Al-Shazly, tomorrow, Monday.


Dr. El-Shazly will deliver a lecture entitled “Between the Bible and the Historical Text: A Look at the Narrative of the Papers of Shimon the Egyptian”.

The event starts at 9 pm and can also be watched on the center’s YouTube channel.


In addition to his literary work, Dr. El Shazly is a leading foot and ankle surgeon in the Arab world. He holds a PhD in Orthopedics from Ain Shams University and a fracture treatment fellowship from Germany. He is currently working as a professor of orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University. He held the position of Secretary General of the Egyptian Medical Fellowship, as well as the position of Director General of the National Training Institute. He has published many medical research papers and served as a reviewer for many international scientific journals.


He has a great interest in literature and history and teaches the history of medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University and the University of Barcelona. He is the author of the novels “A Journey to Gog and Magog” and “The Papers of Shimon the Egyptian”.
