The Amazon HR team is passionate about business partnership in its truest sense. When reporting to the HR Manager, you will play an important role in presenting the HR plan in the Fulfillment Center of our site. You will work closely with the Operations team providing practical, commercial and employee focused advice and support to a client group of approximately 5 Operations Managers and 10 Area Managers (shifts) as well as several support functions. You will use your excellent communication, training and influencing skills to drive employee engagement and change management, ensuring we retain teams of motivated employees who can provide excellent service to our clients.

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will enjoy a diverse role and wide range of interactions across all levels on a daily basis. You will learn about many different aspects of the job and have the opportunity to work on national HR projects. Whatever you will focus on, its whole goal will be to provide the highest quality service to our internal and external clients.

Main responsibilities:

The Senior HR Partner acts as an integral part of the broader site management and HR team. Responsibilities include:

• Recruit and Select: All Amazon leaders are challenged to hire and develop the very best – it’s one of our leadership principles. You will support this by liaising with hiring managers and talent acquisition team to ensure timely filling of vacancies with high caliber candidates. You will work with the Operations team to ensure that a robust succession plan is in place and that we develop our leaders and prepare them for the next challenge. You will also support the site’s resourcing plan, taking responsibility as necessary for seasonal temporary recruitment through our agency partners, making sure we select staff who want to exceed client expectations.
• Employee Relations and Engagement: Employee engagement is at the heart of everything we do. We need to take care of our employees so that they can take care of our customers. You will help develop and deliver engagement and communication plans that stimulate engagement, so you instinctively know what works best. You are very much right. You will also provide support to executives in employee relations and labor law, ensuring that our employment policies are implemented fairly and consistently.
• Performance Management, Talent Management, and Succession Planning: Our annual leadership review ensures that the best talent is retained and developed within Amazon. You are at the core of this, organizing the review process and providing assistance and coaching to line managers on performance development. You will work in partnership with the site’s learning and development team to ensure that there are appropriate educational interventions in place to support the site’s succession plan and develop the next generation of leaders.
• Generalist HR: Your general HR skills and leadership ability will ensure that the HR team provides exceptional service to your internal clients. You’ll dive deep and analyze the metrics to get to the root cause of any issues, as well as identify best practices. By insisting on the highest standards, you will earn the trust of others by offering credible business operations and projects to both the site and the national network.

The successful candidate will:
• Be progressive, pragmatic, customer-centric with credibility and attractiveness to succeed in a fast-moving, customer-focused operational environment.
• You have significant HR experience, ideally acquired at the business partner/manager level within a high volume, fast paced and customer focused environment,
• You have the ability to solve problems and analyze. Experience managing and analyzing HR metrics to find root causes and develop short, medium and long term plans,
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels,
• Have a proven practical behaviour, be flexible and adaptable,
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate others and influence work behaviours,
• Possess strong change management, negotiation and influence skills,
• Be curious. Giving insight into the team/work

qualifications preferred
• University degree (higher education in human resources would be a plus)
• Good understanding of MS Office tools (Outlook and Excel) and HR information systems (eg PeopleSoft) would be beneficial.
