the opportunity
Our BTA tax service line operates as a team of highly experienced tax professionals who focus on providing efficient and effective resources to businesses in the region. You will work with organizations and individuals to structure transactions and operations in a tax efficient manner. This includes helping clients mitigate tax risks and comply effectively with tax laws.
You will help businesses meet the complex demands of tax reporting, compliance, planning, strategy, and controversy. By integrating technical and industry knowledge with established methodologies, you will work with a wide range of businesses and corporations to help them develop and implement effective, practical and sustainable tax strategies.
You will help take care of service delivery, coordination, problem solving, and contract administration for projects where you will be expected to draft tax advisory memos and reports to address client concerns.
Your main responsibilities
You will be responsible for preparing tax research notes and tax advisory reports, assisting with the preparation of the local state tax return, and attending meetings with the local tax authority on client tax issues.
You will create, maintain and strengthen valuable internal and external relationships and ensure that the services provided to clients are of the highest quality.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of client engagements, monitoring progress and deliverables, establishing necessary standardized processes, anticipating and identifying risks, escalation of issues as appropriate, and driving performance improvement solutions.
You will support the team in marketing and business development initiatives to grow the BTA client base in the region and build a positive learning culture by coaching and advising junior team members.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that our tax quality guidelines are adhered to.
Success skills and attributes
If you are a communication professional and detail-oriented, have analytical and problem-solving skills, and are comfortable working across borders with a wide network of people, you would be ideal for this role.
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic qualifications in accounting, business, finance, law, taxation or any related core fields.
An MBA, MSc, LLM or other relevant advanced degree and/or professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Very solid knowledge and at least 3 years of experience in corporate taxation, ideally within a large professional services firm or similar environment.
Ideally, you have too
Experience in dealing with multinational clients and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Excellent analytical and supervisory skills.
Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
