Second booster shot made available by choice for frontline medical professionals and adults aged 60 years and above

Manama, Feb. 3 (BNA) After the approval of the Immunization Committee in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the National Medical Task Force to Combat Coronavirus (Covid-19) announced the provision of a second booster dose by choice for adults aged 60 years. And up, medical professionals are on the front lines.

The task force clarified that eligible individuals may receive any vaccine as a second booster injection, three months after receiving the first booster dose.

The staff also noted that the green shield would not change to yellow in the “BeAware” app for this age group if they did not receive a booster shot.

The task force confirmed that the national vaccination campaign will continue its endeavors to preserve public health, and called on all eligible individuals for the second supporter to go directly to the specific health centers previously announced by the Ministry of Health without the need to book an appointment.

The working group indicated that updating vaccination protocols is in line with the steps taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to address the global epidemic and maintain public health.
