Second Bahrain EU annual conference set for May 2-4

Brussels, Feb. 8 (BNA): Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, Betsy, said that the second annual conference between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union will be held on May 2 and 4. Matheson.

The date was announced during a panel discussion organized by the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence and This Bahrain at the European Union Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.

The event was attended by a member of the European Parliament, Jose Bouzadias, a member of the Shura Council, Muhammad Ali Hassan, and a group of students from Bahrain and the European Union.

“The conference, which will be attended by partners from 27 European Union countries, will focus on the youth issue,” Matheson said, noting that the joint Bahrain-EU Youth Action Committee is working to identify topics and projects of common interest, which will be presented at the conference.

She expressed her pleasure at holding the conference in the historical building of the European Parliament and listening to youth and students, which heralds a bright and promising future.

She said, “Bahrain has always been present in the minds and hearts through its important initiatives and steps that contribute to enhancing communication and rapprochement between different peoples.”

For his part, Bouzadias stressed the importance of integrating young people into international concepts by developing their knowledge and arming them with education and knowledge to face the various challenges the world is going through.

He praised the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain, especially in the field of parliamentary work, stressing the joint endeavor to provide the best service to the people and create a better future for societies and future generations.

Shura Council member Mohammed Ali Hassan said that the legislative system in Bahrain is based on the principle of cooperation between its two chambers and other government institutions.

He referred to the Kingdom’s endeavor to spread Bahrain’s humanitarian message around the world, pointing out that the National Assembly is working to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in all international forums.

The forum represents one of the fruits of the recommendations of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union conference on freedom of religion and belief that was held last year.

Then the two sides recommended the formation of a joint youth action committee between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union.
