Bahrain launches donations campaign in support of quake-hit Turkey and Syria

Manama, Feb. 8 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has opened the door for donations to support those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), stated that the donation campaign follows the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Majesty the King had issued directives to provide urgent humanitarian aid to Turkey and Syria following the devastating earthquake that left thousands dead and caused massive damage.

The campaign came after an appeal by citizens and residents to support those affected by the earthquake, help alleviate their suffering, and contribute to Bahrain’s national efforts to implement the royal directives.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Majesty the King, Honorary President of the RHF, praising the royal humanitarian initiatives in support of those affected by disasters and those in need around the world.

He praised the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, praising its unwavering support.

Based on royal directives, the Secretary-General of the Health Care Corporation, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, has been appointed as CEO to supervise the campaign and facilitate procedures for citizens and residents to participate in the donation campaign.

Dr. Al-Sayed said that all measures will be taken to organize the campaign, noting that account numbers will be announced and communications facilitated to involve all people in the campaign.

He appealed to private sector companies and people to contribute to the campaign to support those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and to support national efforts.
