SCW Secretary-General hails recognition of women’s frontline work

Manama, September 15 (BNA) The Women’s Support Center of the Supreme Council for Women received the award of His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali for volunteer work.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Al-Ansari, praised this appreciation, which she said recognized the pivotal role of Bahraini women among the pioneers in the fight against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

Al-Ansari said, in a statement, that the award will be an incentive for Bahraini women who work on the front lines to make more efforts in serving the country.

She congratulated the recipients of the first edition of the award, praising the speech of His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa during the ceremony, in which she praised the efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and the Supreme Council for Women. She commended the launch of a new category of awards in recognition of the efforts aimed at integrating the needs of women in volunteer work to combat the epidemic.
