SCIA denounces turning some mosques into political arenas

Manama, June 5 (BNA): The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs affirmed that politics is foreign to the roles of religious platforms and places of worship, denouncing the keenness to transform some mosques into arenas for chanting and political slogans during prayer. .

The commission stressed the need to preserve the sanctity of mosques and religious platforms, by dedicating them to the worship of God Almighty, and not deviating from their legitimate purposes, or exploiting them to perform other roles unrelated to them, which would lead to an infringement of their sanctity and the role they are supposed to play.

In a statement, the authority emphasized that religious platforms and mosques play an important and essential role in the lives of Muslims, as they use them to spread knowledge and virtue, promote goodness, righteousness and cooperation, preserve their thought and behavior, and consolidate their identity. Unity and expression of their conscience.

The commission called on scholars, preachers, and all believers to play their primary role in protecting pulpits and worship from bad exploitation that might harm them, distort their image, and divert them from their true role.
