Saudi Tourism Minister starts first visit to Bahrain

Manama, June 5 (BNA): Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqil Al-Khatib started today his first official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Tourism Minister Fatima bin Jaafar Al-Serafi welcomed the Saudi minister and described the visit as an important step to further strengthen bilateral relations in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa. Al-Serafi made this statement while welcoming the Saudi minister and his accompanying delegation. She affirmed the commitment of the Ministry and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) to exert all efforts to develop tourism cooperation and enhance the contribution of the hospitality sector to national development.

She praised the unprecedented steps of tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting the significant rise in the number of tourists and the huge events that are being held across the country.

She also highlighted the steps of the hospitality sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that tourism indicators last year exceeded the performance criteria set in the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026.

She pointed out the importance of involving private sector institutions and investors in tourism and hospitality in efforts to enhance cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
