RHF organizes national campaign to support earthquake victims

Manama, Feb. 9 (BNA): The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) inaugurated a charity campaign with various organizations to support earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

The campaign came under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and in implementation of the urgent directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The campaign includes opening the door for donations, sending first aid shipments, and launching the national fundraising campaign in cooperation with Bahrain TV.

The Secretary-General of Qatar Charity, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, confirmed that letters have been sent to national and foreign banks and companies operating in Bahrain, urging them to donate and contribute to the national campaign.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Walid Al-Manea, has been assigned to supervise medicines and medical devices and ensure that they comply with international standards, in a manner commensurate with the situation and according to the required needs in the two countries.

Dr. Diaa Al-Tawfiqi was also assigned to supervise development projects and Sheikh Jassim Al-Maawda was assigned to coordinate with charitable societies and encourage them to participate in this national campaign.

Dr. Amer Al-Derazi was asked to form a medical relief team to provide field aid, and to assign Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa with media coordination and resource development.
