RHF launches humanitarian initiatives competition

Manama, October 20 (BNA) The Royal Humanitarian Foundation is organizing a competition and forum for humanitarian initiatives.

The competition is held under the auspices of the representative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

His Highness called on citizens and residents to donate and contribute to the “We Are Good” campaign.

Secretary-General of Qatar Charity Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed said that the forum will address several humanitarian initiatives for individuals and volunteer teams by organizing a competition that includes creative industries in charitable and humanitarian work to help raise awareness about humanitarian work.

The Secretary-General stressed the importance of competitions in developing the value of humanitarian and volunteer work in Bahrain.

He pointed to the importance of increasing the number of categories of groups benefiting from projects within its new initiatives, and encouraging community institutions to contribute to adopting and supporting new humanitarian and charitable initiatives.

Bader Ali Qambar, Director of the Social Welfare Department at the Foundation, said that the Foundation launched this initiative to embrace the best humanitarian initiatives directed in all aspects of humanitarian work to enhance the status of charitable work in the Kingdom.

The sixth forum of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation will address humanitarian initiatives, the role of community institutions in presenting new initiatives, and the importance of social media in representing them.

Cumber indicated that the King Hussein Cancer Foundation seeks to attract at least 100 initiatives to enhance the competitiveness of humanitarian work in the Kingdom in the competition.

It is required for applicants that the initiative is new to serve the Bahraini community and has not been implemented before.

The initiative can also target any of the living, social or scientific fields directed to needy groups in particular or society in general, and to provide initiatives through a work team (from 2 to 5 people).
