Reyna makes 2 assists as Dortmund beats Copenhagen 3-0 in CL

Berlin, September 6 (BNA): American international player Gio Reina scored two goals and Borussia Dortmund opened its Champions League campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Copenhagen today, Tuesday.

Dortmund, the 1997 champion who failed to qualify from the group stage last season, took control early on in Group G, with Manchester City playing in Seville later.

After Copenhagen’s Carlos Zica hit the post in the first minute, Dortmund captain Marco Reus and Rafael Guerrero scored in quick succession near the end of the first half. England teenager Judd Bellingham added another late in the second half.

Rios finished on the counterattack, scoring his 22nd goal in 57 Champions League matches, then Guerrero completed a counterattack and took it with Reina seven minutes later, according to the Associated Press.

The 19-year-old Bellingham found the target after a series of fast passes, with a final cross from Reina.

Shortly after the break, Dortmund’s reserve goalkeeper Alexander Mayer made a difficult save in his debut for the club.

Dortmund created many other chances but could not score the goal completely, while the VAR ruled out a late goal for Copenhagen for offside.

In the next round, he visits Dortmund City and Copenhagen, which hosts Seville.
