A leading retail developer is seeking to hire an experienced Retail Leasing Manager for a luxury shopping mall in Abu Dhabi. This role is responsible for:
Manage and direct the day-to-day activities of independent retailers and smaller chain groups in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsible for all mid-level leasing functions, which may include reviewing and negotiating lease transactions and agreements, modifications, weekly updates and reports, internal approval forms, plans updates, and sourcing of new clients.
Responsible for all renewals for any given year in line with management policy to start renewals at least 6 months prior to expiration.
Responsible for generating new leads from local, regional and international markets as needed.
Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and profitability of the department.
Monitors market trends and competition malls.
Works closely with the team to drive department outcomes.
Manages subordinate employees in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
Ensures that major milestones or objectives for assets and division are met in a timely manner and budget is exceeded as a rule.
Maintains extensive knowledge of management processes including internal approvals, weekly/monthly documentation and reports.

• Overseeing all aspects of leasing vacant spaces within the approved leasing strategy to maximize rent and occupancy.
• Examining new inquiries to complete departmental due diligence prior to awarding Heads of Conditions.
• Responsible for negotiating lease renewals, lease agreements and other lease duties as assigned by the Leasing Head.
• Supervising the team for the general management of all lease documents, lease payments and arrears recovery procedures.
• Preparing leasing reports as and when required by management/business.
• Conduct market and competitor analysis.
• Develop and grow relationships with national, regional and local tenants, as well as charter brokers, companies, civic groups and individuals.
• General knowledge of local laws governing landlord/tenant relationships.
• Manage effective communications, retail support, and product representation for prospects.
This role is open to UAE nationals who will possess the following:
• Demonstrable experience as a rental manager.
• The ability to approach existing and new tenants quickly.
• Productivity oriented.
• Proven track record of completed deals.
• A proven track record of continuous improvement and learning.
• Ability to plan and negotiate
• Knowledge of the real estate market regionally.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Good understanding of retail markets and trends.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of tenant mix and zoning.
• Good understanding of mall operations and associated policies and procedures.
• Strong commercial acumen and good technical knowledge of commercial facility rental.
• Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively and collaboratively with the team.
