Faithful + Gould is looking for a Director of Retail Design in Oman. The position is primarily responsible for managing and ensuring that the presentation and functional quality of all stores in the shopping center portfolio are as high as possible and in line with the company’s oriented design standards and established design standards.

Responsibilities and Responsibilities

Ensure that the presentation and functional quality of all stores in the mall portfolio are as high as possible and in line with company-directed design standards and area design standards.
Ensuring business-driven retail design solutions, on-site store delivery, and reduced downtime in the income stream as a result of programmed slots.
Promote and ensure that the retail design process is achieved through both the customer and the ongoing relationship with retailers, their designers, contractors, builders and/or store technicians. For this, the RDM must be interdisciplinary in retail design and knowledge of retail and construction management.
Initiate liaison and meet with retailer(s) and design team/consultant to discuss and clarify SMBU design standards and retail delivery process for new store opening and existing store upgrades.
Share and discuss proposed retail designs with key stakeholders within SMBU and obtain required approvals for related work.
Monitor and track design delivery on a regular basis and submit update reports to key stakeholders for their review and information.
Liaise with the leasing department of SMBU regarding the RDM process. This includes timely coordination with the leasing in order to obtain clarifications on the terms and conditions agreed with the merchants and tracking of activities to ensure that the rent is delivered to the tenant by the specified and agreed deadline.
Interact with Mall Managers in order to coordinate business and costs during the store/unit fit-out process and ensure minimum hurdles are encountered during redevelopment projects.
Coordinate with tenant designer(s) on retail design, building terms and logistics package. This includes chasing down and directing the retail designer to forward the final retail design and MEP design for approval.
Manage and ensure provision of Green Star assessments for the project and for all new business deals in accordance with applicable guidelines and assessment criteria.
Ensures compliance with SMBU’s Client Code of Conduct, management policies and HC policies and procedures at all times.
Be the advocate and ambassador for aligning and sequencing client values ​​across SMBU and ensuring that they are adhered to and demonstrated throughout.

Required background

Minimum Qualifications/Education:

– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture or equivalent. Certifications recognized in the discipline of occupational health and safety and the international sustainability system are highly desirable.
Owner/developer experience is mandatory
– 8-10 years of relevant experience
Middle East experience is mandatory
