Ramsdale outstanding as Arsenal resurgence continues at Leicester

London, October 30 (BNA) Arsenal’s impressive renaissance continued with a 2-0 Premier League victory over Leicester City on Saturday.

Manager Mikel Arteta appeared to be on loan after the 5-0 hit by Manchester City at the end of August, but Arsenal have not lost in nine games since, and this latest victory lifted them to fifth.

Leicester, in the shadow of a side that had won their previous four matches during the early exchanges, looked trailed by goals from Gabriel Magalhaes and Emile Smith Rowe by 18 minutes.

Arsenal had to put up with constant pressure in the second half, although goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale had more touches than any of his teammates, but he produced an outstanding performance that meant Leicester could not turn him around.

The visitors enjoyed a lightning start and took a deserved lead in the fifth minute as Gabriel managed to guide Bukayo Saka’s corner into the upper left corner with the back of his head.

They got a second soon after, Smith Roe quietly arrived home from the middle of the box when Alexandre Lacazette was crowded.

Leicester somehow failed to back off in the first half as Ramsdale sent James Madison’s free kick to the crossbar and then got enough of Jonny Evans’ follow-up to allow Nuno Tavares to clear the goal line.

Luke Thomas moved painfully away, Lockman tested Ramsdale at close range, and the guard stopped another mission to thwart Barnes when he was face to one soon after.

The Leicester winger then sent Arsenal a fantastic comeback with a difficult 2-0 Premier League win over Leicester City on Saturday.
