Qal’at al-Bahrain Site Museum marks 15th anniversary

Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA): The Qal’at al-Bahrain Site Museum (Qal’at al-Bahrain Site Museum) today marks the fifteenth anniversary of its opening, which falls on February 18.

The iconic Bahrain Fort was the first site of the Kingdom of Bahrain to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005.

The Bahrain Culture and Authority (BACA) has put together a rich programme, highlighting the importance of Bahrain’s heritage and human history in developing its cultural infrastructure.

She praised the Arcapita Group’s support for the establishment of the museum, which is evidence of the interest of all parties in the culture and civilization of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The program includes a guided tour at 9:00 am for children around the museum and the Qal’at al-Bahrain fort, followed by a workshop on excavation of artifacts and restoration of antiquities.

It is also scheduled to start a magical evening of singing, performed by the talented Mohammed Asiri Band 7:00 pm.

The Qal’at al-Bahrain Site Museum, one of the most important cultural institutions in the Kingdom, aims to preserve and display many archaeological finds related to the “Qal’at al-Bahrain: Capital of Dilmun and its Ancient Port” site.
