Public Prosecutor highlights law on restorative justice

Manama, March 16 (BNA) A remote discussion session was held today that focused on alternative provisions for children.

The Attorney General, Dr. Ali bin Fadl Al-Buainain, sponsored a virtual session attended by the Family and Child Prosecution and other agencies charged with implementing restorative justice provisions to protect children from abuse.

He stressed the efforts made by the judicial and executive authorities to ensure the protection and care of children under the Restorative Justice Act to protect children from abuse.

He said that the Restorative Justice Law to protect children from abuse represents a milestone in children’s rights, praising His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his humanitarian approach.

He said: “Children are the wealth of nations, the source of their renaissance, and the basis for completing the sustainable development process that Bahrain is witnessing in various fields.”

He urged all parties to unite to protect children, guarantee their basic rights, and work to preserve their dignity and safety against all that puts them at risk or ill-treatment.

Officials representing the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Ministry. The General Sports Authority, the governorates and municipalities, and the Supreme Council for Women participated in the virtual session.
