Public Prosecution holds lecture on electoral crimes

Manama, August 31 (BNA) The Public Prosecution hosted today a lecture entitled “Electoral Crimes” as part of a series of lectures and awareness workshops that targeted more than 4,000 participants in the electoral process.

The lecture, which will be held within the training program for the parliamentary and municipal elections 2022, organized by the Public Prosecution under the auspices of the Attorney General, Dr. Ali bin Fadl Al-Buainain, and in cooperation with the Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies. It targeted investigation specialists and information technology technicians in the Public Prosecution Office.

The lecture given by the Acting Attorney General, Mohamed Salah, focused on electoral crimes, as it discussed the legislation governing electoral crimes, their classifications, and the temporal and spatial scope of propaganda.

It is worth noting that the Public Prosecution, based on its awareness-raising role and contributions to combating electoral crimes, launched in June a training program for all stakeholders involved in the electoral process for Bahrain’s 2022 parliamentary and municipal elections.

The awareness campaign launched by the Public Prosecution on social media to raise awareness of electoral crimes continues until the end of the electoral process.
