The main purpose of a project engineering manager is to complete engineering and construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling all elements of the project. The manager oversees all project development and implementation. He also supervises facility upgrades and is actively involved in any other work related to the project.
Basic tasks:-
? Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; Consult with management.
? Defining project responsibilities by defining project phases and elements; assign staff to stages and items; Review bids from contractors.
? Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; Complete technical studies. Preparing cost estimates.
? Confirms product performance through design and testing.
? Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; Calculation of time requirements sequence of project elements.
? Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordination of activities; solving problems.
? Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes; Recommend actions.
? Controls project costs by approving expenditures; Contract Management.
? Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends; Recommend actions.
? Maintains a safe and clean work environment by applying procedures, rules and regulations.
? Maintains project database by writing computer programs; Data entry and backup.
? Maintains product and company reputation by complying with state and federal regulations.
? Contributes to team efforts by achieving relevant results as needed.
basic skills:-
? Good working knowledge in steelmaking and structural engineering
? Must be highly flexible, adaptable and able to work effectively with a multicultural workforce
? Excellent analytical and communication skills
? Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD and Primavera.
Teaching experience:-
? The candidate must have a BE/ME engineering degree.
? The candidate must have a degree and at least 4 years of work experience within the steel and structural sector.
? Excellent analytical and communication skills
? Qatar experience is a big plus.
? Previous experience in GCC countries is a must
? GCC driving license required
