Role description

The Senior Pre-Sales Specialist has advanced/expert-level knowledge of partner software solutions and SAP and participates in sales cycles as a member of the virtual account team in support of the sales account strategy.

A senior pre-sales professional interacts with potential clients through executive meetings, discovery talks, solution presentations, executive presentations, and follow-up discussions. The primary role of the Senior Pre-Sales Specialist during the active sales cycle is to gain acceptance from the customer that a SAP solution can solve the customer’s problem and is the right choice over other competitive offerings. During these cycles, they often take on the role of solution leader. In addition to supporting deals, the Senior Pre-Sales Specialist collaborates with the Sales and IVE teams to plan and implement business development strategies through the use of Design Thinking tools and techniques.

Support the deal

Compose and present high-quality sales presentations covering SAP and partner software solutions to potential customer audiences. Presentations should illustrate the sales message, distinguish SAP, and make a strong and positive impression on an audience that can include the company’s top executives.
-Prepare and deliver value-based software proposals/presentations to support sales cycles. The preparation includes customizing the materials to ensure a simple, attractive and persuasive presentation to the clients.
Prior to the main demo or presentation, conduct discovery sessions with representatives of the potential client in order to build relationships with the client and understand their unique needs.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of SAP solutions and appropriate industries in order to maintain credibility with potential clients. Provide proof points with relevant customer stories.
Support RFx completion to support customer proposals.
Ability to effectively present clients “remotely” using virtualization technologies (SAP Virtual Studio and Adobe Connect).
Provide limited after sales support to key clients primarily to the project/implementation team to ensure a smooth transition.
Able to lead as a solution captain when deals require complex solutions and require multiple presales participants to support a successful customer presentation or demonstration.
Effectively leverage existing support teams to support pre-sales success. (Global/Regional Solutions Specialists, CoE, IVE, HuBs Solutions, Deal Consultants, Solution Experience, Product Management).

Support individual sales and marketing events on site and remotely.
Lead and support Design Thinking workshops to promote new and innovative solutions to clients and prospects.
Collaborate with the sales team to identify mileage opportunities in the accounts.
Sales readiness
Develop close relationships with sales teams in order to promote effective selling methodologies
Participate in pilot system design, planning and assistance with configuration if required. Participate in new product release introduction, testing and peer training.
Act as a champion or participate as a leader in Solution Centers and provide knowledge transfer to colleagues as needed.

work experience

5+ years experience in pre-sales
3-5 years of experience specialized in solutions (or customer equivalent) in relevant areas of the job
Demonstrates 5-7 successful posts that lead small teams into small to medium-sized deals
Expert knowledge/experience in matching processes/solutions from start to finish
– Experience in sales and sales operations
– Excellent presentation and communication skills. English: Experienced
Business-level local language: expert
