Pope thanks King in Vatican prayers; praises Bahrain’s preparations for visit

Vatican, November 1 (BNA): His Holiness Pope Francis thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his visit to Bahrain on November 3 and 6 and all those who made it possible.

Speaking in front of the people gathered in St. Peter’s Square to the Angel of All Saints, he said, “The day after tomorrow I will leave on an apostolic visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where I will stay until Sunday.”

“I would now like to salute and thank the King, the authorities, the brothers and sisters of the faith, and all the sons of the homeland, especially those who worked for a long time in preparing for this visit.”

The Pope said that the thirty-ninth apostolic trip that will take him to Bahrain will be a “journey under the slogan of dialogue” and that he will participate in a forum “focusing on the need for East and West to meet closely for human coexistence.”

“I will have the opportunity to speak with religious representatives, especially Muslims,” he said.
